5 apprenticeships, 1 Hotel Manager

From hotel porter, 5 Apprenticeships with our Brend Training Academy to General Manager, William has been climbing the ladder since his Brend Collection journey began. 

William first started back in 2009 as a Porter at The Imperial Hotel, where he gained valuable experience assisting all departments, working front of house in our lounge and learning exceptional customer service skills. After 3 years, William put his new learnt skills to the test as he joined The Barnstaple Hotel, part of the Brend Collection, as an Assistant Manager. It’s within this role that William learnt key managerial skill, learning and assisting all departments and managing people. 

 

Just 3 years later, William was back at The Imperial Hotel, this time back at The Imperial Hotel, being promoted to General Manager. William has been flourishing in this role ever since, where he oversees the whole hotel operations, sales, stocks and works closely with Hotel Director Matthew Brend.  

As part of William’s progression and investment, he has undertaken many courses and apprenticeships within the Brend Training Academy including Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 Diploma in Hotel Managment and is currently completing his Level 5 Apprenticeship, further developing his skills and career. 

When speaking about his time at Brend Collection, Will sums it up by saying "It's a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together and that's what I've been lucky enough to have."
