As a Room Attendant Apprentice, you will learn to recognise customer needs and understand how to match them to products and services, whilst also learning about the
hospitality business. The apprenticeship programme takes between 12 - 18 months, during which time you will earn whilst you learn. You will work alongside the hotel teams, with HIT Training looking after the academic side of your qualification. Please note there are no days at college for this apprenticeship.

What students will do as a hospitality team member apprentice:
As an apprentice you will develop the highest standard of hospitality skills while working as part of the team to ensure an amazing guest experience. The role is very varied and, although apprentices tend to specialise in an area, you will have to be adaptable and ready to support colleagues across the business, for example during busy periods. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Develop fantastic ‘hospitality’ skills across a variety of standards
  • Choose a hospitality specialism such as food and beverage, barista, wine service, reception or housekeeping
  • Work with the heads of departments and managers who will support and mentor you
  • Gain an industry-recognised qualification to a national standard
  • Work as part of a team and develop interpersonal skills
